Being Santa
Cymdeithas Twmbarlwm Society presents an illustrated talk entitled:
BEING SANTA
The History of Father Christmas and Life in the Grotto
An entertaining talk by ROGER MORGAN
Monday 7th November 2022
Crosskeys RFC – Doors open 7.00pm
STRICTLY NOT FOR BELIEVERS
This talk looks at the myth and origins of Father Christmas, from Wotan the Norse God to St Nicholas. It also considers the origins of many of the Christmas traditions, presents, trees, Father Christmas entering the house through the chimney and so on.
Roger has built himself a great reputation with the variety of subjects he covers in his entertaining talks – from the Romans to Medieval Knights or from Ship’s Surgeons to The Whitechapel Murders.
But in this talk Roger becomes the real entertainer with his anecdotes about life in Santa’s grotto and some of the strange, terrifying and hilarious things that go on when you wear the big red suit.
This is sure to be a fun filled and informative talk.
* We must emphasise that this talk is not really suitable for ‘believing’ age children *
