Geophys Survey First Images
As you all know we started the Geophys Survey of Twmbarlwm in atrocious weather conditions last autumn and after a week of stumbling around the hill top we had to call a halt to proceedings with a promise to come back in the spring to continue.
Spring is here and we should be well into continuing the Survey but the Coronavirus lockdown also arrived and we are unable to re-start our archaeological project – is this another ploy of Mynydd Twmbarlwm to not reveal any of its mystery to us?.
It’s a great shame that we have nothing to report as yet – we have had some initial images from the Geophys team and although they have made some observations they cannot make any definitive interpretations until the rest of the survey is completed and nobody can predict when that may be.

Below is the first set of images we’ve received and we’ll let you all make of it what you will – the experts are saying nothing until all of the data has been collected.
Twmbarlwm and its hill fort have been there for many centuries and will not reveal its secrets easily or any time soon – but be assured once this current emergency is over we’ll be back up there and we will be calling for volunteers to come and help us – watch this space.
