Cymdeithas Twmbarlwm Society presents an illustrated talk presented by Gavin Jones, Community Engagement Officer for NCC
Stand on top of the Twmp and the first thing most people point out is the famous Transporter Bridge spanning the river Usk that winds through the centre of Newport.
If you want to learn more about this iconic bridge, its history and its future, come along to Gavin Jones’ talk at Crosskeys RFC on Wednesday 1st March – it’s sure to be a fascinating talk.

In its 117th year, this engineering icon of not only Newport but arguably Wales and the UK, is entering an exciting chapter of extensive renovation, restoration and the construction of a brand-new visitor centre.
Gavin Jones, Community Engagement Officer, for Newport City Council’s Transporter Bridge Project, will reveal the fascinating story of one of only eight remaining transporter bridges in the world and the exciting opportunities to be part of this exciting project!
Entry is FREE to members or £3.00 to non-members (you can become a member of CTS for £10 on the night if you wish)
Drinks available at the Bar ~ A raffle will be held on the night (all donations gratefully received)
