Volunteer Workday – 29th June 2014
TIDY TWMP – VOLUNTEER WORKDAY
29th June 2014 – Meet at 10.30 at the new car-park.
Litter pick, Fence & Gate Inspection and Repair, Tree Care
Again we’re inviting you to come and help with a bit of physical work – depending on weather and how many people turn up we will organise volunteers for the following tasks:
- a litter pick around the area – (sadly always needed) we’ll supply pick-up sticks, gloves and bags.
- fence and gate inspection – we need to walk the length of the fence we erected and do any necessary repairs
- gate installation – the stock gate previously installed is going to be moved. This will be done by the contractors but it may require more work at this time.
- sign installation – again we hope this work will be done by contractors beforehand, but there may be more work required.
It’s never clear until the day exactly what work is going to be required – so please dress appropriately for the landscape with stout shoes and coat to suit the weather – and expect to get a little bit dirty. We will have whatever tools will be required, hi-viz vests and gloves.
We stop for lunch when hot and cold drinks and biscuits will be available – we sometimes do hot-dogs but bring a packed lunch just in case.
A great deal has gone on up the Twmp in the past few months – please come along and see for yourself, and support us – bring the family along too.
If you are unable to drive up to the car park we could possibly arrange to pick you up – contact Terry Evans at twmbarlwmsociety@gmail.com or phone 01633 619902. If you are able to offer somebody a lift, also contact Terry so we can connect people together.
You could also help us advertise the event – download the poster here, print it out and display it in work or anywhere loads of people will see it.
